Our client is a high-growth Fintech Infrastructure Provider and Institutional Crypto Brokerage dedicated to bridging the gap between Traditional Finance (TradFi) and Digital Assets. They are currently evolving into a crypto-native neobank, providing institutional-grade custody and settlement solutions specifically designed for high-volume businesses in the iGaming, Forex, and Fintech sectors.

The firm is currently in a pivotal growth phase, undergoing a DLT license upgrade with the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC) to enable seamless, large-scale crypto–fiat settlement for global institutions.

The Role:

They are seeking a seasoned senior executive to serve as the local "Mind and Management" for their Gibraltar-regulated entity. The Managing Director will be the primary architect of the firm’s local presence, ensuring that all operations remain in strict alignment with the Gibraltar DLT regulatory framework.

This is a high-impact appointment for a leader who excels at the intersection of regulatory diplomacy, institutional finance, and blockchain innovation.

The company are offering a unique, phased entry designed for industry experts:

• Pre License: You will join as a Strategic Advisor/Consultant on a flexible basis (estimated 1–3 days per month). This phase focuses on governance setup and regulatory engagement during the DLT licensing process.

• Post-Licensing: Upon approval, the role is intended to transition into a more permanent structure, including part-time executive contracts, retainer-based leadership, or full-time board-level positions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide local mind and management for the Gibraltar entity, ensuring all operations meet the standards of the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC).

• Act as the lead liaison with the GFSC, managing all regulatory communications, filings, and relationship building during and after the DLT license upgrade.

• Oversee the establishment of local governance structures, including board meeting cycles, statutory reporting, and internal policy implementation.

• Collaborate with the global leadership team to align the Gibraltar infrastructure with the company’s wider fintech and crypto-fiat payment goals.

• Represent the company locally within the Gibraltar financial services community and to institutional partners in the gaming, forex, and fintech sectors.

• Ensure the local leadership team operates effectively and remains compliant with DLT principles.

• Lead the transition from the licensing phase into a fully operational, lean executive structure.

Requirements:

• Extensive experience as a Managing Director, Country Head, COO, or senior executive within a regulated financial institution.

• Strong background in traditional banking, payments, or regulated fintech (EMI/VASP).

• Prior experience as a GFSC Approved Person or an equivalent regulatory status in another Tier-1 jurisdiction is highly preferred.

• Proven track record of managing direct relationships with financial regulators and navigating complex licensing processes.

• Deep understanding of corporate governance and the ability to chair or contribute effectively to board-level discussions.

• Strategic mindset with the ability to operate in a lean, entrepreneurial environment during the initial advisory phase.

• Knowledge of the Gibraltar DLT regulatory framework or a strong interest in the intersection of crypto liquidity and institutional payments.

• Located in Gibraltar or willing to relocate
